DOES TREATMENT HURT?
When we are trying to identify damaged tissue or inflammation, we will move the applicator head around the injured area. When the waves from the device penetrate healthy tissue, you won’t feel much of anything. However, when the waves hit damaged and inflamed tissue, you will experience manageable pain or discomfort – but not of the intensity that requires numbing creams or anesthetics.
WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE FIRST VISIT
Our doctor will review your history and discuss your goals and expectations regarding your StemWave treatment. During the initial StemWave visit, or Mapping Session, we will utilize the device as a diagnostic tool over your area of complaint to identify the primary location(s) of pain. Once located, we will focus the remainder of that visit towards that area to ensure we maximize the positive effects. The treatment itself can be done in about 10-15 minutes.
SUBSEQUENT VISITS (CARE PLANS)
Although some patients will feel immediate improvement after their first visit, this is not a ‘one and done’ treatment solution. Subsequent visits are required to further the process of healing and achieve lasting results. Based on your specific diagnosis and goals, we will create a recommended care plan that best suits your needs. Care plans are commonly between 8-12 sessions. Patients typically experience significant progress after 3-4 visits, however we do often see a noticeable improvement after the first treatment. Subsequent visits will offer continual improvement and sustained results.
