Diagnostics

  • Comprehensive Exam: A physical examination based upon your chief complaints to evaluate your condition and overall health.  We will check your vital signs and perform orthopedic, neurologic and chiropractic examinations to determine the best course of care. Should x-rays or advanced imaging be appropriate we will refer out for those diagnostics.

Chiropractic Techniques

  • Activator Technique: A gentle and low-force technique, which uses a hand held instrument to deliver an adjustment. The Chiropractors at Heart of Florida Chiropractic hold Advanced Proficiency Ratings through Activator Methods.
  • Thompson Terminal Point Technique: A technique that uses a specialized table with sections that drop down slightly to facilitate the adjustment and require less force.
  • Full Spine/Diversified Technique: A technique that uses manual adjusting.
  • Gonstead Technique: A Chiropractic  technique focusing on bio-mechanically correct positioning and precise thrust.
  • Toggle-Recoil: Upper cervical specific technique focusing on the first and second cervical vertebrae.
  • Flexion-Distraction: Uses a special precision table that makes circular and vertical movements to release disc and spinal pressures thus increasing fluidity and motion in the spine and its associated joints.
  • Extremity Adjusting:  A variety of techniques are used to evaluate and adjust the joints in the upper and lower limbs.
  • Webster Technique: A specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment to reduce the effects of sacral subluxation and/or SI joint dysfunction in order to improve the neuro-biomechanical function of the pelvis. The Chiropractors at Heart of Florida Chiropractic have been Webster Certified since 2014 and Douglas Gagnon, Jr., D.C. became Perinatal Certified through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association in 2022.
  • Palmer Package Techniques: A collection of chiropractic adjusting techniques that includes Diversified, Gonstead, Toggle-Recoil, and Thompson.

Massage Therapy (License MM29047/MA99344)

  • Massage Therapy involves manual manipulation of the muscles and connective tissue of the human body.  Massage can provide numerous benefits, including, but not limited to, relief of acute and chronic aches and pain, decrease stress, promote relaxation, improve circulation, increase flexibility, relieve headaches, prevent injuries, improve sports performance and help the recovery process, provide relief from pain associated with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Arthritis and more. Our massage therapist, Therica Boggs, LMT joined the Heart of Florida Chiropractic Team in July of 2022. She offers Deep Tissue, Relaxation, Hot Stone and Prenatal Massage and is certified in Lymphatic Drainage. Appointments with Therica can be scheduled by contacting the office at 863-422-4575.

Therapies

  • TENS Unit (Trans-cutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation Unit): Electrodes are placed on the skin and electrical impulses transmitted helping to decrease pain.
  • Low Level Laser: Utilized to speed tissue healing times and reduce inflammation and decrease pain.
  • Hot packs: Utilized during the chronic phase of injury to relax muscles.
  • Cold packs: Utilized during the acute phase of injury to decrease pain.
  • Kinesio-tape: Application of a specially designed elastic tape to help decrease pain and increase support
